Story #138: The Little Black Jacket

Hello!

I do believe in some statement pieces, basic clothes a woman should have in her closet, no matter her age, style or economical background. One of these is the all time classic Little Black Jacket.

In fact i believe that every woman should have 3 basic Little Black Jackets: one Chanel-esque type, one man-tailored strict androguny (preferably a shabby one, not very tight or for the more bold ones, one size bigger proves ultra chic and cool)  and a leather one. With these three pieces be absolutely sure you will always be chic, classy, stylish and modern all at once either by wearing them with a simple white tee or with your best silk blouse or with over 100 different ways. Of course there are plenty of proposals in the shops and on the internet which means that you can actually purchase one without having to spend a small fortune, as long as it suits you well and help you bring your inner beauty out to the rest of the world!

Story #129: Dear London,

oh!Dear!Cheerios!Hey mates!See ya!Sorry!

Words that sound like music to my ears, when i hear them straight from the source! i have been twice to London, yet i don't think i will ever grow out of it-on the contrary, every time i return i wish i could stay ther 4ever-trully, madly, deeply.

Because London is so cool.
So Chic. 
So Whimsical!

 And it has given me so much food for thought and some of the very most perfect images i can recall in my life so far (well maybe Rome, Florence and Pilio in Greece have too). Not to mention some shopping therapy too, my heart literally aches when i remember Oxford Street or Covent Garden...

So here is a teeny- tiny part of what i saw, tasted and kept in my heart from a sweet week in October in London. If i could 'eat' these memories they would sum up in a small perfect piece of applepie in a small cafe in Covent Garden.

I love this way of displaying a collection of artwork. 

After all why limit yourself to one piece of art when you can fill a whole wall with it? Here are some creative ways to get started.  

- Mix photos, art, and other trinkets in a variety of mismatched frames and add your willingness to forget your obsession with perfection and symmetry, for an eclectic eye-catcher

 

 -  Line your staircase to liven up an often boring wall

- Use a single color that appears in every frame to tie your wall together

- Use a variety of prints from the same artist for this cohesive look

 - Save time and space by layering frames and knick-knacks on a ledge

 Extra tip by me: A bit of foresight in mapping out your collage on the floor before hanging helps too!
